Our Trip to Laguna Beach

 We decided we couldn't let summer go without visiting the beach.  Though, Leland didn't have vacation days from work, we took a day trip on Saturday, August 11, our 7th Anniversary.  We woke up around 5am, piled in the car, and got to Laguna Beach around 10:30am.  Lucy and Jack spent a few hours in the waves and Alice and Dexter hung out on the beach.  Leland and I took turns between the two stations.  Jack seemed to be wrestling with the waves and I had to grab him to keep him from being overtaken several times.  He was quite delighted by being knocked off his feet.  Lucy liked to race the waves up the beach.  

We couldn't help but feel happy.  It was a perfect day. 

After we played at the beach, we visited Leland's aunt, uncle, and grandma in Mission Viejo.   It was so fun hanging out with Kevin, Ellen, and Grandma DeRama!  We went swimming in their pool and ate yummy food.  Lucy, Jack, Alice, and Dexter enjoyed being doted on.

Wanting to get home before Sunday, we left around 5 pm.  Leland and I joked that we were on a date, talking while our children slept in their seats.  It was a great way to spend our anniversary. We are each others' favorite people.  

We were in bed by 10pm.  Not a bad way to spend a Saturday!
